The Club's Board of Directors voted to set the club fee for the 2011-12 season at $900.00. This is the first increase since 2009-10 season, and reflects increased costs mandated by the Gateway Region and USA Volleyball for membership fees and tournament expenses that were absorbed by the Club last year and not passed on to the players. The fees does include plyometric training for all players, which was optional last season.
Of the $900 fee, a minimum of $600 is due on Commitment Night (October 24 for ages 11 to 14; November 21 for the 15's-18's) The balance is due by December 31, 2011.
The Club fee is an all-inclusive fee. We do not, like many Clubs, charge a base fee and then require players to pay extra for coaches' travel expenses, out-of-town tournament entry fees, gym rental fees, or other costs. We also do not require players to engage in fund-raising, nor require parents to donate goods or services. We do not travel "in season" (January-May) as it is too expensive for parents and disruptive of family routines. Travel is in June and July to such tournaments as the USA Volleyball National Championships, JVA/AAU National Championships, or the Asics National Championships. While the Club fee covers the coaches' travel, it does not include a player's own travel expenses.
Uniform costs are in addition to club fees. A new uniform set is $109.00. Items may be purchased individually but the set represents a savings. We value stability and structure; hence we have adopted a distinctive jersey with the "Arch" logo on the front and "Powerhitters" across the upper back. As we buy uniforms, shorts, and socks in sufficient quantities, we receive a disount from All Volleyball. Given our tax-exampt status, items are sold without application of any sales tax being added, thereby saving players and parents additional money.
Uniforms consist of two Asics jerseys (white with maroon letters/numbers; maroon with white letters/numbers), Asics black shorts, and Asics white crew socks. Players provide their own white/gray volleyball shoes and white kneepads.
2011-12 uniform information is on the "Documents" link of our website, and samples will be available at the Commitment Nights. Information related to Powerhitters clothing is on the "Clothing" and "Documents" links. Samples will also be available at the Commitment Nights.
