The St. Louis Powerhitters Volleyball Club coaching staff offers a wide and diverse variety of volleyball experience to its players, as follows:
18's: Head Coach Heather Ebert is the varsity coach at Gibault Catholic High School in Waterloo, Illinois. In her first year as the varsity coach, she led her team to a 4th place finish at the Class 1A State Championships Finals. She played outside hitter and defensive specialist at Notre Dame High School. This is her fifth year of coaching, the first for the Club. Assistant Coach Doug Ebert is a student assistant coach at Murray State University, and a guest instructor at Gibault Catholic High School. He played libero at Bishop Dubourg High School, where he led his team to the state finals in 2009 and 2010. This his fourth year of coaching and his first with the Club.
17's: Head Coach Elisha Snodgrass returns for her second year with the Club. She played at Winona High School, where she was an All-Conference outside hitter her sophomore through senior years, and All-District her junior and senior years. She played on a full scholarship as an outside hitter and defenisve specialist at Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff. Assistant Coach Kim Pugliese returns for her fourth year. She had a long and distinguished career coaching for over ten years at St. Francis of Assisi in south St. Louis County before joining the Club.
16's: Head Coach Brian Hackworth Jr. returns for his second year with the Club, and his third year of club volleyball. He played as an oustide or middle hitter on Saint Louis University's men's club team. He is presently an assistant varsity coach at McCluer Senior High School. Assistant Coach Lindsay Morris is a senior middle and right side hitter at Webster University. She played at Seckman High School. This is her fourth year of coaching, the first with the Club.
15's: Head Coach Sam Dye joins the Club. He is a former All-Metro and All-Conference outside hitter at Francis Howell Central High School his senior year, and led his team to conference championships each year. Assistant Coach Sarah Von Lienen joins the Club from the Delta Region, where she coached 15's last year. Sarah played at Arkansas Tech in the Gulf South Conference as a middle hitter, where she was the 2010 Conference Player of the Year, and was 1st Team All-Conference in 2008, 2009, and 2010, as well as the 2007 Freshman of the Year. She was named to the GSC All-Decade Team, named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association 2010 All-South Region Team, and was an AVCA All-American Honorable Mention, as well as a 2010 GSC Top Ten Athlete among all sports (men's & women's).
14's: Head Coach Cindy Harrison is in her second year as a club coach, the first for us. She played as a defensive specialist at Triad High School. Assistant Coach Haley Dochwat joins the Club. She played as a setter at Triad High School.
13's: Head Coach Christine Mosely joins the Club. Last season she was the freshman volleyball coach at Eureka High School. She was an All-Conference outside hitter at Affton High School her senior year. She played at Webster University, and has coached at Affton and Valley Park High Schools. Assistant Coaches Madi Gilbert (middle hitter) and Sarah Pinnell (defensive specialist) are former Eureka High School players making their club volleyball coaching debuts.
12's: Head Coach Lauren Jenkins joins the Club. She played as an outside hitter and team captain at Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri. She played her high school and club volleyball in California. This will be her third year as a club coach. Assistant Coach Leslie Thomas also joins the Club. She played club and high school volleyball as a setter in the Kansas City area, graduating from Blue Springs High School. Assistant Coach Brooke Pruett is a senior outside hitter at Collinsville High School. She has been voted the team's Most Improved Player her freshman, sophomore, and junior years.
Club Director Kevin Nelson has coached ages 11-16 since 2000. He serves as one the few Coaches or Club Directors selected by the Regional leadership to be involved in the selection and training of mentors for the Region's program. He served on the Gateway Region Board of Directors from 2005-2010. In 2009, he was awarded the Dennis Lafata Memorial Service Award, the Region's highest honor for outstanding service and contributions to the sport.
